Can Iowa State win it all? Why this could be their best team ever

Iowa State might just be the best team in the country if we look at their big jump in KenPom and continuity from previous seasons. Their top 3 scorers all are averaging above 18 ppg and  returning from last season's tournament loss to Ole Miss in the Round of 32. They’ve won all four of their neutral site games so far by an average of 16.5 points including over a top 10 KenPom offense in St. John’s. They rank top 10 in both KenPom offense and defense with the only other team being Duke to fit into that exclusive group.

The thing about Iowa State though compared to Duke is that their leading scorers all have tremendous experience playing in March including leading scorer Tamin Lipsey who's done so every year he's played. Milan Momcilovic is shooting 54.8% from range and almost doubling his 3 pointers made per game from last season. They’ve seen their team jump from an offense ranked 19th last season to 9th this year and 13th to 6th defensively. Going from great to elite in both categories while having all that experience makes us think that Iowa State could potentially cruise through a weekend or two during March to go farther into the tournament than they ever had before.

The last time they made the Final Four was in 1944 much before efficiency rankings of the modern times were created. If there's one thing, I highly doubt many teams would want to play this team come March.
